Handlebar – project

The mission was simple, create a learning board that did not allow the user to fall over. After many unique prototypes and three rounds of testing with the Jay Peak snowboard instructor team, we finalized on the Handlebar. For this particular project, I got inspiration from my 4 year old son. I observed how he could ride around on a bikes and scooters with no fear, but not on a snowboard. On a board, his hands looked like they needed to hold on to something, and this is how the Handlebar was imagined. It was one of my favorite projects and I got to see kids from ages 2 – 7 test out my prototypes and learn how to slide on snow.
